Philadelphia Eagles Grapple with Devastating Injury Report Following a Deflating Blowout Loss to the New York Giants

It wasn’t that long ago when the Philadelphia Eagles were 10-1 and considered by many to be the cream of the crop of the NFL. But, that’s all come crashing down.

The team has lost five of six to close out the season, losing Cowboys in the race for the NFC East Crown and embarrassingly getting blown out by the lowly Giants in a game they were trying to win for much of it, 27-10, on Sunday. Now, they’ve received terrible injury news at a position where they cannot afford it.

Rookie safety Sydney Brown had come on strong at the end of the regular season, but he is going to miss the entire postseason, as he is believed to have tore his ACL in the Week 18 loss to the Giants.

The Philadelphia Eagles have been thin at safety all year long, and it’s been a serious weakness for the team. They tried to address it by adding aging veteran Kevin Byard. But, that has not really plugged many of the issues on the back-end.

Brown had been playing much better, garnering PFF grades of over 66 in three of his last five contests coming into Sunday. He had an awesome pick-six last weekend against the Cardinals in an Eagles’ loss.

Now, they will be without him as they look to stop the bleeding that took them from 10-1 to 11-6 and in the Wild Card Round. They will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next Monday night in Tampa Bay.
