The Kansas City Chiefs will end the 2023 NFL regular season with a record of (11-6) after taking care of their division rivals, the Los Angeles Chargers (5-12), on the road.
Having already locked up a playoff berth at home in Week 17, the Chiefs rested most of their starters in the 3:25 p.m. Sunday afternoon matchup.
Kansas City will now take on either the Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, or Miami Dolphins on Super Wild Card Weekend.
The Chiefs got a look at its younger players and depth veterans as they made their case for more playing time in the postseason during the 13-12 win.
Kansas City’s defense was excellent as always, and the offense did just enough to scrape out a game-winning field goal in the game’s closing minutes.

Andy Reid was asked about why Travis Kelce was held back from playing Sunday. The head coach said it was ultimately the tight end’s decision. Reid said Kelce felt it would be selfish to suit up and risk injury just for the pursuit of 16 more yards.
