In one such revelation which had surfaced after the Juanita Venoy breakup, it was reported that it was his infidelity that drove his ladylove away. While the couple had initially seemed to have a strong and stable relationship, they faced challenges that eventually led to their separation.
Juanita and Michael Jordan got married on September 2, 1989, in Las Vegas. They had met in the late 1980s at a restaurant in Chicago and began dating shortly afterward. The couple seemed to have a fairy tale romance, and their wedding was an extravagant affair attended by numerous celebrities and sports stars. Rumors of infidelity and disagreements began to circulate in the media at the turn of the century, which contributed to speculation about the state of their relationship. Soon after in 2002, a case for divorce was filed by Juanita.
They announced their separation in 2002 after 17 years of marriage. In their joint statement, released through their lawyers, the couple stated that their decision to separate was mutual and amicable. Soon after, it was revealed that a private investigator, that goes by the name of Eddie Rezzo, that the Chicago Bulls talisman was indeed cheating on his wife.
At the time of the separation, the information was not revealed and everyone was very confused as to how and why were the divorce proceedings so quiet. Shortly though, news surfaced and it was revealed that Michael Jordan was seen in compromising situations with at least 6 women as he traveled back and forth from Miami to Chicago.
The aftermath of the divorce, however, was painful for Jordan. The divorce roughly cost Jordan around $168 Million. At that time, it was hailed as the “biggest sports divorce” of all time.
Since their divorce, Juanita Vanoy has kept a relatively low profile, while Michael Jordan continued to focus on his successful basketball career, business ventures, and philanthropy. While their breakup marked the end of their marriage, both Juanita and Michael have been committed to co-parenting their children and have strived to maintain a respectful relationship for the sake of their family.
