Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has once again made waves online, this time with a playful remark about teammate Travis Kelce and his relationship with pop sensation Taylor Swift.
During an interview on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s training camp special at Missouri Western State University, Mahomes revealed that Kelce’s new hairstyle may have been influenced by Swift.
“I’ve been trying to get him to grow his hair out, and all of a sudden, Taylor gets him to do it,” Mahomes, 28, said with a laugh during the conversation with hosts Bruce Murray and former Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.
Kelce, 34, has recently been sporting a longer hairstyle, and it seems Swift, his girlfriend, might have had a say in the decision.
The light-hearted comment quickly gained traction on social media, particularly on X (formerly known as Twitter), where Swift and Kelce fans eagerly shared the clip. A fan account, @TravisGeloreFan, posted the snippet, garnering more than 54,500 views in a matter of hours, while another post by @TravisKelceUpdates added another 13,000 views.

In a 2023 appearance on the Wrighster Picks podcast, Kelce opened up about his unique style, saying, “It’s full-on me. Kelce’s barber, Patrick Reagan, who has been cutting his hair for over six years, also revealed that Swift has been a fan of his work. In an interview with Fox News earlier this year, Reagan shared, “Taylor loves the haircut. She has watched me cut his hair a bunch of times and always compliments it.”
While Swift may have influenced Kelce’s recent hairstyle, Reagan confirmed that she liked his shorter hair as well, proving that Kelce’s fashion sense and appearance are just as important off the field as they are on it.
