BREAKING: Chiefs, Patriots surprise second trade would land $19 million star in KC

The Kansas City Chiefs are looking like a real threat to win the Super Bowl once again this season.

Kansas City is the only unbeaten team left in football at 7-0 heading into Week 9. On top of already having a great roster, the Chiefs have been busy with the trade deadline approaching. The Chiefs landed DeAndre Hopkins in a trade with the Tennessee Titans and followed it up by landing linebacker Josh Uche in a deal with the New England Patriots.

The deadline will come and pass on Nov. 5 and it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Chiefs make another move at this point. Kansas City is fantastic but could use a boost in the cornerback room.

Because of this, USA Today’s Jacob Camenker suggested Patriots cornerback Jonathan Jones as a fit in a deadline deal.

“The Chiefs lost their No. 2 cornerback, Jaylen Watson, to a season-ending leg injury,” Camenker said. “He was enjoying a quality 2024 campaign. Kansas City will have to rely on 2022 draftees Joshua Williams and Nazeeh Johnson to hold the fort there if they don’t add a veteran to help fill-in at the position.

“Jones would be an ideal fit for Kansas City. The 31-year-old is on an expiring contract and can play both in the slot and on the outside, something that Steve Spagnuolo likes in his defensive backs. Jones also won two Super Bowls with the Patriots, so his battle-tested postseason readiness could shore up the Chiefs’ secondary as they look to complete an unprecedented three-peat.”
