Beyoncé reportedly addressed her attendance at parties hosted by her husband Jay-Z’s friend, Sean ‘P Diddy’ Combs, in a leaked audio recording.
The Instagram account F2cmedia shared an audio clip that was claimed to feature Beyoncé herself. Recently, the former Destiny’s Child lead vocalist has faced criticism for her connection to the Bad Boy Records founder, with many fans urging her to publicly denounce P Diddy over the allegations against him.
P Diddy was arrested in mid-September and charged with sex trafficking and racketeering. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and strongly denied any involvement in illegal activities. The person alleged to be Beyoncé in the audio admitted to attending Diddy’s infamous parties.
“My involvement in those parties was primarily for entertainment purposes,” the individual said. “I had no idea about any of that terrible stuff going on.” They added: “It is crucial to separate my presence at a party from any illegal activities that might have been occurring. You know I stand against exploitation and violence so let’s make that clear okay.”
In the comment section of the F2cmedia post, opinions were divided on the authenticity of the audio. Some users believed it was real and commended Beyoncé for addressing the matter, while others were doubtful.
“AI like f—-! Delete this s—-,” one critic wrote. Another person commented, “Why does it sound like she’s reading off of something?” A third remarked, “B would never. This audio fake af.” Someone else said, “This sounds like a mash-up of different speeches. And AI.” As of now, Beyoncé has not confirmed or denied whether the leaked audio is real or fabricated.
Since last Friday, the “Crazy in Love” singer has faced growing backlash for her association with P Diddy, with many accusing her of staying silent to protect him. Numerous social media users have flooded her Instagram comments, demanding answers.
The comments varied from GIFs to direct accusations, with memes included in the conversation. One user asked, “How can you admire someone involved in disturbing things?” Another commented in all caps, “We want the truth.”
