Fans were poking fun at Jason Kelce for seemingly taking a nap at Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in Miami, but the former NFL star said that he did no such thing.
“Jason got out of the house this weekend in Miami, and we gotta talk about it,” Travis Kelce said, teasing his older brother about a photo of him seemingly asleep at the concert, during the Wednesday, October 23, episode of the “New Heights” podcast. “You took a nap at the Eras tour.” Jason, 36, sighed before replying, “I did not take a nap. Travis, you know I didn’t take a nap. I did not take a nap.” Travis, 35, was curious how the former Philadelphia Eagles player could sleep during “the greatest show that’s ever been on stage,” and Jason gave some details on what really went down during his supposed snooze. “I’m going to give a little background to this photo,” Jason began. “So, Kylie [Kelce] is holding Elliott, right? Elliott was just with me. We were dancing and I was sitting down so I’m on the same level as her. We’re out in the open and we brought a bunch of people to the show, because a bunch of people have been asking us, ‘Hey, when are you going to Taylor Swift’s shows?’” Which Is Your Favorite Taylor’s Version Album?
The dad of three said that because his seats were “out in the open,” he felt like he was “in a fishbowl” and everyone was “staring” while he was holding his daughter. “So I’m dancing with Ellie, Ellie goes over to Kylie, and then I’m sitting here and I’m just, like, feeling it,” Jason continued. “I’m tapping my thigh and I’m just, like, in the moment, listening to the song. Then, all of a sudden, I go on Twitter and I see this f–king picture. I’m like, ‘Dude, what the f–k?!’ I’m not even sleeping and I can prove it to you! There is evidence in this photo that I’m not sleeping.” Jason then had one of the producers of “New Heights” zoom in on his hand that appeared to be mid-tap before he added, “You can’t sleep with your hand hovering above your knee!”
On top of putting an end to the “Jason took a nap during Taylor’s show” rumors, the eldest Kelce gushed about how awesome the “Karma” singer’s show in Miami actually was. “Not only was it the greatest show, but obviously, I went to the two London shows, and this Miami show was incredible,” Jason said. “I don’t know if it’s the fact that we’re back in the U.S. because I think the London crowd was incredible, but the rain and everything … Dude, it was on another level. I texted you halfway through it, [in] this rain Tay is killing it. When Reputation came on and she came out in the new outfit and the rain was coming down, the place could have f–king erupted. I mean it did. The amount of energy was insane. It was so exciting.”
