Bronny James and Parker Whitfield have gone public with their rumored relationship as James begins his professional basketball career alongside his father on the Lakers.
On Thursday, which was National Boyfriend Day, Whitfield shared a photo alongside Bronny and Mickey Mouse with the caption “bf day! i love you! @bronny.”
Bronny reposted the note, adding the caption “I love you babyyyyy.”
Bronny and Whitfield have been rumored as a couple since they sat together for Team USA games during the Paris Olympics over the summer.
Whitfield, a student at the HBCU Spelman College in Atlanta, is the daughter of actress Salli Richardson-Whitfield and actor Dondré T. Whitfield.
Whitfield and James attended Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles together.
James, the son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, was drafted 55th overall in this year’s NBA Draft after playing one season at USC.
He signed a four-year deal worth $7.9 million, with the last season being non-guaranteed.
During Summer League in Las Vegas in July, he indicated that he would be open to potentially playing in the G-League this season.
“I’m just looking forward to any basketball I play,” Bronny said at the time. “No matter what level I’m playing at.”
During the NBA Scouting Combine before the Draft, Bronny set forth what his ambitions were in professional basketball.
“I just want to … have people know my name is Bronny James and not be identified as just LeBron James’ son,” he said at the time. “I would be happy about getting to the league instead of me thinking about playing with my dad. But that’s not my mindset at all. I’m just trying to put in the work and see where it takes me.
“My dream has always just been to put my name out, make a name for myself.”
