Dallas Cowboys fans were livid after the team’s Week 16 road loss to the Miami Dolphins on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium because the referees missed several holding and facemask calls in favor of linebacker Micah Parsons, who only recorded half-a-sack during the 20-22 defeat.
Parsons, 24, did have two solo and five assisted tackles, but it was not close to enough on a night that saw Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa throw for 293 yards and one touchdown on 24-for-37 completed passes.

Despite being one of the league’s best pass rushers, Parsons has not drawn a holding call in the last 36 quarters, a nearly impossible occurrence.

Parsons was also called for roughing the passer on a regular tackle that gave Miami a new set of downs in the red zone.
The narrative heading into Sunday’s clash between Dallas and Miami was that neither team could win against good competition.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns on 20-for-32 completed passes with no interceptions, but his team’s defense did not force any turnover, either.
Dallas now drops to a 10-5 record, while Miami (11-4) clinched a playoffs spot with two weeks left to play in the 2023 NFL season.
