Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Irvin is currently being investigated by the Allen Police Department for alleged misconduct. Details of the investigation have not been confirmed, but a spokesperson for the Allen Police Department stated that it is still in the early stages and no specific information can be released at this time. Irvin and his attorney, Levi McCarthern, have denied any wrongdoing by the Hall of Fame receiver. McCarthern stated that he has talked to Irvin and can assure people that Irvin has done nothing wrong.
This investigation comes after Irvin settled a $100 million defamation lawsuit against Marriott, allowing him to return to work at the NFL Network and take on a new job with FOX Sports 1. The lawsuit was filed by Irvin against Marriott and six others for defamation and tortious interference after a female employee accused him of making inappropriate comments in a hotel lobby.
McCarthern expressed his belief that this new allegation, much like previous ones made against Irvin, will turn out to be unfounded. He stated to Pro Football Talk that it will likely be “much ado about nothing.”
