Jalen Hurts Soars to New Heights: Eagles Quarterback Makes NFL History with Record-Breaking Rushing Touchdown Against the Giants

Jalen Hurts is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL, largely due to his dual-threat ability. The Philadelphia Eagles star is as dangerous a runner as he is a passer, and he proved that with a record-breaking score in Week 16’s game against the New York Giants.

The Eagles struck first in the game, as Hurts executed the vaunted “Tush Push” for his 15th rushing touchdown of the season. That number is a milestone, as Hurts officially broke Cam Newton’s record for most rushing touchdowns in an NFL season by a quarterback.

Newton set that record as a rookie in 2011, when he rushed for 14 touchdowns on his way to Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. The former Carolina Panthers star would go on to score the most career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback with 75, a number that is significantly more than the previous record-holder, Steve Young’s 43 rushing touchdowns.

Last season, Hurts came one touchdown short of tying Newton, as he ended the season with 13 rushing touchdowns. He now has double-digit rushing touchdowns in three consecutive seasons as a starter.
