Who else?
Browns quarterback Joe Flacco, who played for the Jets in 2020, ’21 and ’22, carved up the Jets’ defense, completing 19 of 29 passes for 309 yards, the first QB to pass for 300 yards against their defense since 2021.
Flacco also threw three TD passes, all of which came in the first half while the Browns were putting the game away.
Unsung hero
Browns tight end David Njoku, who’s from Cedar Grove, N.J. (otherwise known as Tommy DeVito’s hometown), was unstoppable in the first half.
Njoku caught six passes for 134 yards on the night.
Five of those for 128 yards came in the first half.
Zero
In a rarity, Jets linebacker and defensive captain C.J. Mosley had a terrible game.
He was often in coverage on Njoku and simply couldn’t keep up with him as he shredded the defense.
Mosley did force a fumble, but he struggled with some missed tackles as well.
Key stat
The Browns had 91 more yards by halftime (367) than the total the Jets’ defense had been allowing on average per game (276) entering the night.
