Travis Kelce was a pretty irresponsible kid in college, which isn’t so unusual. However, he might just be the only college kid who lost a brand-new Ford F-150 his brother gave him in under 10 hours because he forgot to lock it while there were spare keys in the glove compartment.
Of course, that’s not such a bad thing if your vehicle gets stolen that way while you’re at your house or at the grocery store. But in Travis’ case, he was at a strip club.
Speaking on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast he runs with his brother Jason Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end told the story to Shannon Sharpe, who was a guest on the show.
Jason, a center for the Philadelphia Eagles, was the first of the pair to make it to the NFL and gave his younger brother said truck as he was working for a car dealership in Philadelphia. Travis says he had no ride because he’d wrecked his car.
“Within the first 10 hours of me having the vehicle, I go up to Cleveland — you know, visit the ‘boom boom room’ — went to the strip club, came back out of the strip club (and) … that car was gone!” the Chiefs star recalled.
Jason, who looked disappointed all over again, told Sharpe Travis had left the keys in the car but the younger brother said that was not what happened, explaining he was not aware there was a spare in the glove box and he left the doors unlocked.
