Fans are not happy with what Patrick Mahomes had to say about Chiefs teammate Rashee Rice after causing an injury to the second-year wide receiver on Sunday.
Mahomes and Rice were involved in a nasty collision while playing the Chargers on the day, with the quarterback inadvertently throwing himself into the wideout’s lower body in an attempt to make a tackle after throwing an interception.
Rice was quickly ruled out of the game, and it’s feared that he could be out for the season, having come into Week 4 as the player with the most receiving yards in the NFL.
Mahomes spoke about the incident after the Chiefs’ fourth straight win on Sunday night and expressed hope for the best.
“I didn’t know exactly what happened because, obviously, I was trying to make the tackle,” he told reporters. “But I know Rashee and how tough he is, so him being down like that, I knew it wasn’t good. So all we do is pray that the x-rays and MRIs and stuff like that are better than what it looked.
NFL fans were incensed, given a lack of an apology and the fact that Mahomes said “next man up” after being directly responsible for Rice’s injury.
“Him saying next man up is wild af,” one wrote.
“A $500,000,000 QB trying to make a hero play after throwing an INT is insane. There is no excuse for his decision and it will cost them and my fantasy team in the long run,” another added.
“1) you have zero business trying to make a tackle on a defender
“2) you didn’t even hit close to the defender you only hit Rice
“Just sit back and watch next time please,” someone advised.
Chiefs fans will be sweating over the WR’s status this Monday but should be informed soon.
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: Travis Kelce’s brand Tru Kolors recently launched a new line of merchandise called “TK Prophecy Tee,” which Taylor Swift fans believe is a reference to her song ‘The Prophecy’ from ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.
The Kansas City Chiefs star’s latest launch follows a leaked ‘contract’ indicating that he was going to make their breakup public on Saturday, September 28, which passed without an announcement of a split.
Travis Kelce’s ‘TK Prophecy Tee’ has Swifties screaming
The dark green T-shirt with the phrases “Tru Kolors” and “Height of our Dreams” at the bottom caught fans’ attention when it first appeared on the website of Travis Kelce’s brand.
It was probably a reference to both his podcast ‘New Heights’ and his native Cleveland Heights, Ohio, as per Parade.com.
The tee also has a paragraph of text which is difficult to see in the sample image. However, some of the phrases that seem to be in the text include “dream beyond the horizon,” “uplift others,” and “the barriers one breaks, and the legacy of kindness.”
Although there does not appear to be any obvious reference to Swift in the text, fans instantly made the connection between the shirt’s title and Swift’s song ‘The Prophecy’ from ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, deriving interpretations from the images.
The $69 shirt sold out shortly after it was listed on the website, but it looks like Tru Kolors has already restocked it.
Swifties could not contain their emotions and took to social media to share their excitement over the new launch.
One shared a picture of the tee on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “SCREAMING, CRYING AND THROWING UP…… WDYM TRAVIS RELEASED A PROPHECY T-SHIRT.”
Another shared, “He is speaking to our Swiftie hearts. He totally made this for us. Too sweet.” One joked, “Now Travis is doing Easter Eggs.”
“The Prophecy lore is forever my favorite,” declared an individual, while someone else remarked, “The prophecy aka my fav song in the entire world aka my surprise song ?”
Travis Kelce shares Cincinnati Bearcats post on the day he was supposed to announce split from Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce posted a football-related message on social media the day a leaked “contract” claimed that he and Taylor Swift were going to announce their breakup.
The tight end expressed his disappointment over a recent football game on X on Saturday in a message to his teammate Patrick Mahomes.
He wrote, “Really thought the bearcats were gonna find a way to win that one at the end…” before adding the acronym for “shaking my head.”
A picture of the alleged contract from Kelce’s PR firm was leaked earlier in September. The document, which was initially shared on Reddit, contained a thorough schedule for making a public announcement about their split at the end of the month.
It was largely considered fake and Kelce’s team was quick to label it as “entirely false and fabricated,” as per Daily Mail. His delegates stated that they had hired attorneys to find the person responsible for the “unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”
However, the pop star skipped the NFL star’s games in Los Angeles and Atlanta, leaving fans eager to see the couple together for the first time since their “breakup” date.
